The Essential Kamado Grill Cookbook Core Techniques and Recipes to Master Grilling Smoking Roasting and More edition by Will Budiaman Cookbooks Food Wine eBooks Reviews

  • This is great resource for anyone with a Kanado grill, or anyone researching purchasing one. It begins with information on the grills, types of fuel to use and other information.

With these grills, you can easily cook more than the usual steak and burgers. In addition to typical grilling, you can roast, bake and braise foods.

You can prepare entire meals on the grill, entrees, side dishes to desserts.

I received a free copy from the publisher.
  • After receiving a copy of this book from the publisher, I handed it directly to my husband, who is the "grillmaster" of the house......shortly after, I flipped through it, and was pleasantly surprised! The recipes are full of wonderful flavors! Not only can the hubs stay busy outside grilling away, but many of the recipes can be used in my kitchen, as well. )
  • This is a nice book to show you all the ways your kamado grill can be used. He’ll have you confidently grilling, barbecuing, and baking. The classic, traditional recipes are in there, as well as some recipes off the beaten path.

We tried the Crispy-Skin Salmon with Chermoula on page 46 with the Chermoula Sauce on page 157. It’s very simple, quick, and packed with flavor. The chermoula recipe makes ¾ cup and you only need ¼ cup for this recipe, so I only made 1/3 of it. In hindsight, I should have used a mini-food processor or mortar and pestle for that amount because the big food processor just tosses that little bit of sauce against the side. You’ll do better. Lol!

The Brussels Sprouts with Pomegranate Seeds, Walnuts, and Grapes on page 87 were delicious. I make Brussels sprouts a lot and am happy to have this variation in the rotation. I love the pop of color and bitter punch of the pomegranates. It’s well balanced with the rich walnuts, sweet grapes, tangy Greek yogurt, bright mint and acidic balsamic pop. Yeah, you should make these.

Some others I have flagged to try Mushroom and Swiss Burgers with Bacon and Aioli – p 32 * Dry-Brined Chicken Breasts with Alabama White Barbecue Sauce – p 42 * Cuban Roast Pork (Pernil) – p 77 * Molasses Baked Beans – p 104

*I received a copy to explore and share my thoughts.
  • This cookbook shows you how to cook on a Kamado grill in case your new added it offers techniques, where to find everything on it, and ways to fire it up. Some recipes include tandoori chicken, beet salad with mint, pepitas, and goat cheese, classic beef stew, molasses cake, brisket chili, and so much more. I like that the recipes are detailed and helps you understand how to cook the meats to the desired temperature.
